Sporadic Scene: Sinister (2012) – Lawn Work

You know, this was the first jump scare in years to work on me. The worst is that this scene is so obvious about what it is setting up. You simply cannot miss it. However, when it takes an age to get there, you are waiting for it but your defences are weakened. Well played, movie, well played.

  8. Almost peed my pants watching the trailer, then I got extremely upset when I actually got the chance to see it, which was mainly because I couldn’t focus on the few creepy moments since this group of youngsters next to me kept making noises. By the time I exploded and asked them if I had to get my machete out of my trunk to shut them up, the good parts were over… Still thought it was somewhat entertaining.

    1. Man, sometimes you get real tools at the cinema! You should have really pulled one out from under your seat – real screams and all that hahahaha! Ah, that sucks, because it was really good before it devolved into senselessness…

    1. Yeah it was an alright movie. Not fantastic, not awful. There was that whole messed up section in the middle to two thirds in, just totally wrecked and detracted a lot. Minus that and it would have been far better!
