Ugh. Well, this happened. I know that there are a lot of people that I love and respect that are fans of this, but I am not impressed. This is probably the eighth time I have watched this, but I can finally say that I made it through! So, there is that at least. Outside of that? Goodness gracious me, this movie is slow. And for me to complain about that is something – I love a slow burn film, I do. But this film just made me want to sleep for days, luckily this time I did not give in to the temptation. It isn’t even a long film – it’s only about 97 minutes, but it feels like at least two and a half hours, which is insane. Moving on from that, I would love to know if Juno was banging Sarah’s husband before that tragic accident? It seems pretty obvious, he goes to her and not Sarah when they are done rafting, sharing too many intimate looks, and then the way Juno broke at the hospital and fled her friend – I think that is more about mourning the husband than commiserating with your bestie. Ick. The story also wasn’t groundbreaking, and I didn’t feel like it was perfectly set up to freak you out. Okay, so my other half joined about forty minutes in to this and had himself a few jumps and said it wasn’t an awful movie, but he got to miss that whole dreary startup that just dragged on and on. Also, I found this to be quite predictable, which was unfortunate. Then there is the whole concept of whatever these things were. I am glad that they didn’t delve into that too much, it means that there is still some mystery and keeps them scary. Another thing I didn’t like at all about this movie was the characters. For serial, there was not one I was really willing to back or like, except maybe Beth, but overall they were loud, annoying, whinging and silly to boot. I really just wanted more. I really wanted something that was going to thrill me, something that would just get me properly, I was hoping that if I made it through this film I would finally understand the love for it. Well, let me tell you, this movie didn’t do anything for me, although I still liked it more than Children of Men, so there is that at least.
